Mausloeum of Galla Placidia
The Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, built in 425 A.D., with its unique early Christian mosaics, is one of the eight amazing UNESCO World Heritage sites in the city of Ravenna.
From 22 February to 23 March 2025 Palazzo Rasponi dalle Teste in Ravenna hosts an art exhibition dedicated to NEDO DEL BENE, curated by Paolo Trioschi and Marco Del Bene.
One hundred years after his birth, Ravenna dedicates a tribute to Nedo Del Bene (Sansepolcro, 1925 – Ravenna, 2018), mosaicist, painter, illustrator.
Lively and multifaceted artist, he dedicated himself to artistic practice since the 1950s, after training in painting courses at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence directed by Primo Conti and in painting and mosaic under the guidance of Teodoro Orselli and Renato Signorini at the Academy of Ravenna.
During a fundamental stay in France, he approached the famous ‘École de Paris’, thus elaborating a pictorial poetics that, while remaining anchored to figurative investigation, drew on sentiment and its deep emotional suggestions.
In his intense mosaic and painting activity, he has received important awards and taken part in about seventy exhibitions in Italy, Europe and Japan.
